How to Submit a Speaker Proposal The Louisiana Assisted Living Association welcomes presentation proposals from speakers with experience relevant to assisted living operations, geriatrics/resident care, senior housing sales & marketing, human resources, legal issues, leadership development, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, etc. We typically schedule three education offerings annually -- our Spring Symposium, Summer "Boot Camp," and our Annual Conference & Tradeshow.
Our LALA Education Committee is responsible for selecting our speakers and determining our program topics for each event. Presentations are typically 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Criteria for selection include: speaker qualifications/knowledge of subject matter, creativity/originality, relevant experience, and overall value of the content to our target audience as defined below.
Target Audience Presentations should geared for professionals involved directly or indirectly in the assisted living industry, including owners, top-level administrators, sales and marketing staff, resident care directors, activity directors, etc. For our annual conference, LALA partners with the HomeCare Association of Louisiana (HCLA). We generally open our conference with a joint keynote presentation for LALA and HCLA attendees, so the conference keynote presentation should be targeted and relevant for both assisted living and home care professionals.
Program Attendance We typically have 100-120 LALA attendees at our Spring and Summer education programs. Our Annual Conference attendance averages 250-275 (approximately 90-115 assisted living professionals and 125-200 home care professionals).
